Home FAQ Gasoline engine electrical system
Question: A client called from a workshop and asked: I am repairing a Gentra vehicle, it is very hard to start the engine, and it only start normally sometimes after the engine worked. I used scanner found only fault P0337: Low voltage, crankshaft sensor. Clear fault normally, I have checked connector, replaced new sensor, measure the output electric pulse of the sensor. The live data display on the screen is normal, but I can not fix this fault. Could DTDAuto help me with this case?
Answer: Hi! The information you provided are clear: In this case, your battery may low or the air-gap is too wide. Therefore, when you start engine it may rotates but can not reaches the standard speed (e.g. 200 rpm) this reason caused of low positive voltage pulse sent from the sensor to ECU. ECU can not recognize the engine speed Ne and ignition signal G cause of hard to start. When it started, everything become normally because engine speed is fast enough. You should check the pulse signal of sensor while starting by using live data or AutoScope and the battery voltage to see clear reason. Good luck!
